It all happened following a sudden invitation from one younger, Russel Shafik, from Matuail in Dhaka. Elder brother, Ali Asif Shawon and his better half, Moumi Khondoker, also my friend, were among the invitees who made the crazy outing to fishing Hilsha at Meghna river.
Soon after I reached Dhaka University’s TSC, Russel hired a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in which we, four, got on after 10:00pm. But things became so interesting when we found a huge arrangement — khichuri, beef, and at least 10 types of vortas — for us. The rainy weather made it so delicious that the dessert part, taken on the rooftop during our adda was very charming. And thus Shawon Bhai offered us for seeking Hilsha fish alive from a nearby place. I was very curious to it, so did the others.
But after 6:00am, Shawon Bhai called me for the early outing though we went to sleep after 4:00am. And with sleepy eyes and rough temperature, we left Russel’s home for Meghna Ghat area under Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj.
By 8:00am, the three faces searched for food for having breakfast. But initially we didn’t forget to take a selfie there.
